What to do with all those groceries you are buying cheap each week? Each week I’m going to feature a frugal food blog to help you with your quest!

$5 Dinners Mission

To make dinner for my family every night for $5 or less!
To prepare healthy meals using natural and wholesome ingredients!
To encourage and inspire others to do the same!

This week, I’m going to share $5 Dinners. Not only because she has fabulous frugal recipes but because she was a guest poster on my blog way back. Back in the day, when people didn’t check page rank before guest posting on a blog! I also consider Erin Chase, founder of $5 Dinners and author of $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook a personal friend.

So what will you find at $5 Dinners? Erin shares her family of four’s $5 Dinners with her readers. Yes, her dinners cost just $5 by utilizing effective couponing methods. I have found the recipes on her site and in her cookbook to be simple yet delicious!

Disclaimer: Your price may vary depending on the area of the country you live in as food prices are subject to wide variations in different parts! She also provides information on how to save at the grocery store or on non-grocery items.

Other site features:

  • $5 Dinner Challenge: Readers submit a challenge and Erin solves it. There is also a linky provided so other bloggers can link up to their challenge recipes!
  • How To’s: From how to make your own rice milk to how to cut pomegranates!
  • Bargain Meal of the Week: Bloggers use the weekly sale ads to create a “Bargain Meal” match!

Head over to $5 Dinners and browse around. The Walnut French Toast is making my mouth water!
